Hi Aljali,
Could you tell us a little bit more:

  • how many people will attend?
  • which background / experience do they have?
  • how much time the workshop may take?
  • what should they see, do, make, change, learn during the workshop?
  • when do you consider the workshop to be succesful?

All the best,

    about 2 to 3 Hours
  • what should they see, do, make, change, learn during the workshop?
they see 3d printer and cnc laser cutter or desing robot
when do you consider the workshop to be succesful?
    I do not know

Thank you Mr Pieter

Given the background of the participants, I can imagine that the machines and techniques from the fablab are not completely unknown to them. That is why it seems less necessary to them to explain each of the machines (and other tools) in detail, but especially to emphasize the added value of a fab lab.

Assume a 2.5-hour workshop. Divide that time into 10 parts of 15 minutes.

My suggestion for the purpose of the workshop: a quick tour with emphasis on the added value (the combination of people, information, machines and tools) that offers opportunities to work on solutions that benefit the world. Then a short session in groups in which a project proposal is developed for a given problem (derived from the SDG targets).

Steps:

  1. Welcome
  2. Quick tour through the lab
  3. Discussion
  4. Introduction group work
  5. Analysis
  6. Design
  7. Implementation
  8. Project proposal
  9. Plenary presentation and discussion
  10. Evaluation

Does this help?

All the best,
Pieter
